Is A Velo Tours Holiday For Me?
Absolutely, if you enjoy cycling then yes. We are lucky to be located in one of the most beautiful areas in Spain with all the best cycling routes on our doorstep, from coastal routes to mountain roads we are so lucky to have it all. So if you are looking to pound the miles or cruise around enjoying the small villages, we cater for it all.  The villa is also a perfect to relax, should you wish to ride half a day or a few hours, or take a rest day. The villa has a pool, lounge area and spacious gardens for you to enjoy.

We do have to advise that the area is not flat and we are located in a valley, so it may take you out of your comfort zone, and some climbs will be challenging for those who are more used to flatter routes. But don't be put off, Dave and our our guides will be by your side, and will organise the routes to suit the group.  Remember you can do as much or as little as you want, it is your holiday after all.
We can also arrange e-bikes to help with those rolling roads, tried and tested by David and I, these are a great way to ride the climbs and also enjoy the longer days in the saddle. There is an additional charge for the hire of these, please contact us for more details.
There is always plenty of café stops and there is always the support vehicle just a call away if needed. Our holidays are not designed to beat you with a stick, but to share everything we love about cycling in this beautiful and  undiscovered area.

Our favourite climbs

  • Coll de Rates - A beautiful climb, loved by many pro cyclist, topping out at 632 meters. This climb is just over 6.5km long with a gradient average of 5%.

  • Puerto de Bernia - The Bernia is a beautiful climb which starts from the town of Xalo. With a 12.5km assent with an average gradient of 4.3% taking you through rural countryside, almond groves twisty roads and some of the areas most oldest vineyards.

  • Val de Ebo - A definite contender to being our most favourite climb in the area. The average gradient of 6% and 8km in length. The numerous bends and switchbacks, combined with the stunning views make this worth the pedal power.

  • Castell de Guadalest - One of our longest days on the bike with the amazing climb up to Guadalest, climbing through forest, and valleys dotted with old stone houses, all the way to spectacular Castell de Guadalest with its rocky pinnacles and ancient castle. Gradients are around 3-5%. A fantastic day on the bike.
